PRESS RELEASE CITY OF WELLSBURG W.V. BROOKE COUNTY STATE OF EMERGENCY PUBLIC HEALTH DISASTER
In conjunction with the BROOKE COUNTY COURTHOUSE the City Manager has issued the following order of operation for City Properties. Beginning Friday March 20,
2020 until further notice, the Wellsburg City Hall will remain open for regular hours, 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday thru Friday. The PUBLIC will ONLY have access regarding ESSENTIAL BUSINESS through APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call the appropriate department before visiting to determine if your business requires a face to face appointment. Please utilize the postal service, or drop box on the front door for utility payments and electronic payments can be done over the phone. The street garage, waterworks, police department and the waste water treatment plant are not open to non-essential personnel or the public. If residents have an issue contact City Hall and work orders will be issued to department supervisors. Utilize 911 for emergencies only and call the police department directly for business and non-emergencies.
The walking trail remains open and residents should maintain social distancing as they exercise. The city parks are open but residents should be aware that the facilities, playground equipment and porta jons are NOT SANITIZED for the Corona virus. The Committee meeting scheduled for March 24th is cancelled. The Water and Sewer Board meeting scheduled for March 25th is cancelled.
